Me in Mecca.
Here I am standing at the Piano that Jerry Lee Lewis, Elvis Presley, Carl Perkins and Johnny Cash used to for an impromptu recording ‘jam’ session which would later become the ‘Million Dollar Quartet’, at the Sun Studios in Memphis, Tennessee.
Shellie and I did a guided tour of the studio. It was amazing to think I was standing in the spot where Elvis recorded his first songs, or where Bob Dylan kissed the ‘X’ on the ground. The studios have seen some of the best recording artists of all time come through it’s doors.
I went wandering through the streets of Memphis, took a trolley (tram), and wandered down Beale street to B.B King’s house of Blues. It was an amazing city, alive with culture and music, and I will definitely return there. One of my favourite places in the U.S.A
